Postby ProgressiveOverload on Thu Jan 26, 2012 7:18 am

Can i stack both creatine and fat burner at the same time? and if not, how can i use them together in a day? and does using each other together cancel the effects of both supplements? Help please. Thanks! :? :?:

I see no reason why you can't be on creatine and taking a fat burner at the same time. As to when to take them follow the instructions on the label. Just be aware that starting creatine will cause you to add weight, especially if your preloading, as it pulls water into the muscle cells so if your dieting it may seem like you are not losing or even gaining weight.

To be honest i have taken both without any ill effects. The site i mentioned does not recomend it because you can run the risk of dehydration. I drink a lot of water each day so perhaps that's why i never noticed a problem with mixing them. So i guess it's up to you.

Thanks! But did it have any positive effects? Like, did you lose more body fat due to the fat burner consumption? and maintain or increase muscle mass or gains due to creatine intake?

The Fat burner will not stop the Creatine from making you stronger. Creatinie is simply added to your bodys current natural supply and allowes you to produce more ATP, therefor allowing you to lift more weight for more reps. The Creatine will not stop your fat burner from burning fat, because it has no role to play when it comes to fat or fat storage. The only issue you need to be aware of is the one Vanguard pointed out. And that is that the Creatine will cause your muscles to hold more water (not fat), so you may notice an increase in weight, but don't panic its not fat weight. The last time i went on Creatine i was also on a low carb diet and i gained just over 2kg (over 4 lb) of water weight. It isn't anything to worry about, it's just that for first time weight loosers, it can mess with there heads a bit when the number on the scale go up.

Thankyou! So we can conclude that taking both creatine and fat burner would bring greater results? More fat burned without draining muscles?

I would say that we can conclude that the creatine will make you stronger (but only if you drink plenty of fluids, to combat the diaretic effects of the fatburner) and that by being stronger it will help you to maintain muscle mass and will also allow you to load the muscle up with more weight and thereby probobly burn more calories.

That article is from 2001 and is outdated. Caffeine does not cause dehydration. Caffeine is also one of the ingredients in preworkout suppliments. I myself take 200mg of caffeine preworkout and then creatine post workout with no problems. As long as your drinking water your fine.

The dehydration thing is an old myth and a half. All caffeinated beverages put far more fluids into the body then caffeine takes out of it. Even coffee has a net hydrating effect. Your will gain more fluid from drinking it than the caffeine will make you lose
