fish oil

What’s the recommended amount of fish oil to take a day?
Also if I eat fish everyday like Mackerel Fillets (100g serving) would I really need to supplement with fish oils?

Mackerel is a great source of protein and healthy fats(omega 3 and 6). Having a source like this just twice a week
my diet would be full of those important fats (including my other sources). Having it everyday, you are more than ok.

I wish I had salmon everyday :D .

I’m on the MANS Diet and eat around 300 grams of ground beef a day so I thought eating fish with a salad instead of taking fish oil capsules would be a change, so thanks for reply no need for oil capsules :)

I take 1000mg fish oil capsules twice a day (morning and evening) and I can honestly say I feel great, much better than before I used to take them. Fish oil has a number of benefits one of which is improved brain function (i.e. can help with depression but even if you are not depressed, help maintain a healthy balance mentally). Anyway, read into the claims what you will, I personally find it works for me. It's also one of the few supplements that has consensus in the bodybuilding world. I also eat a LOT of tuna incidentally and still decide to supplement with it.

If you like to eat fish like Salmon & Mackerel they are both excellent choices in omega 3 fatty acids, salmon & mackerel contains natural anti-inflammatory agents that relieve swelling caused by injury and exercise. If you eat what you say there is no need to supplement with fish oil capsules, plus you will be getting a good source of protein and calcium. Eating from the source is even better and can make some nice tasty meal options “keep eating your fish” ;)

I'd say 4-5 capsules a day minimum. Fish oil is a great supplement--one of the few that I recommend.

I take over 8000MG a day, spread out in 2400MG doses, usually with meals. I also eat a 6oz wild caught salmon.
