Some advice on my supplements please guys

Postby Harvey94 on Fri Sep 30, 2011 11:43 am

Hi guys,

Could i please have some advice on the supplements i use and see if you guys would change anything......

First thing in the morning i take impact whey protein with L-glutamine and also 4 tablets of CNP Pro creatine E2 , also my multi vitamin and cod oil

mid morning i will have a CNP Pro mass shake

Later i will take another impact whey protein with L-Glutamin and 4 more CNP Pro creatine E2

before bed its my Whey protein with L-Glutamine

Obviously this will change slighty when working out and i also eat inbetween! lol , it was just to give an idea to you guys.

I have just began using myprotein as sudjested by mark and love the whey protein! also the L-glutamine and both great prices!

I am just not 100% that this creatine is worth the money and i notice that myprotein do great deals on creatine

Any advice on which and what creatine to use would be great guys!

Thank you

Over all pretty good but I think you should try and get most of your protein from food.

I would take whey after your workout along with creatine and L-glutamine. Creatine in the moring on non workout days if your spiking it with fast absorbing carbs like dextrose.

At bed time I recommend using caisen protein or cottage cheese instead of whey as its a slower digesting protein then whey so it insures your getting amino acid uptake for a longer period of time while your sleeping which is what you want. Also take 5g of L-Glutamine

You should aim for a 1g of protein per pound of body weight for the day.

Thank you for the advice! So do you think the CNP pro creatine E2 is ok? I hear so much people saying you should only be taking monohydrate only?

As for the protein with food, I do eat a lot of high protein food like chicken and red meat I just didn't want to not have enough but if I work it out as you say I would more than likely see I could cut out a whey shake!
Will look into caisen protein!

Thanks

Can't really comment on CNP pro creatine E2 as I have never used it. From what I have read creatine monohydrate is the cheapest and most researched form of creatine and it definately works and that's what I use.

I did find this study which came to the following conclusion regarding creatine ethyl ester. http://www.jissn.com/content/6/1/6

Creatine ethyl ester did not show any additional benefit to increase muscle strength or performance than creatine monohydrate or maltodextose placebo. Additionally, total body mass, fat mass, fat-free mass, and thigh muscle mass were not significantly enhanced with creatine ethyl ester supplementation compared to placebo or creatine monohydrate groups. Increases in body water were similar to the placebo and creatine monohydrate groups. The vast majority of the improvement observed in the present study can most likely be attributed to the training protocol itself, rather than the supplementation. Since creatine ethyl ester supplementation showed a large increase in serum creatinine levels throughout the study with no significant increase in serum and total muscle creatine content, it can be concluded that a large portion of the creatine ethyl ester was being degraded within the GI tract after ingestion. Furthermore, it appears that the skeletal muscle uptake of creatine ethyl ester uptake was not significant enough to increase skeletal muscle creatine levels without significant degradation to creatinine occurring.

Based on that I would stick with creatine monohydrate ;)

But in the end man, supplements are just supplements, it all falls back on you. Just go, be consistent and determined. Hit the iron, do your diet right and rest. :D
