Whey Protein Isolate + Glutamine

Until now I've used just whey protein isolate, but I've heard that glutamine can help, and I have some questions.

My daily intake of whey protein was 1 shake in the morning after waking up ( 1 cup ) and one cup after workout. Now I want to also take Glutamine and on the box it says : 4 pills in days when you don't work out, and 4x2 pills in days when you are working out. Could someone what is the best way to take them, and I'm concerned that I could take to much.

The best way to take them is orally - they don't work very well from the other direction... :lol:

Kidding. In seriousness, first thing in the morning and at bed time is when you should be taking glutamine. If you're going to do once a day on off days, skip the morning not the evening.

When you say first thing in the morning ..should I combine them with my whey protein shake ? Or take just glutamine ?

Matters not. I say make your life easier and stack them, but if you'd rather not it won't make a whit of difference as far as I know.

Post workout to counteract the fall in protein synthesis and last thing at night i find would be of best benefit, if you are taking a good protein isolate there should be a good 5g of glutamine per serving in your shake

Should be... but you'd be surprised how many national brands don't include it... very frustrating... Optimum and Nature's Best do though, that I know for sure. :)

Yeah good shakes and good protein % in them they will keep you covered in the morning with your glutamine, its a good move introducing glutamine people underestimate it, i use to but after taking it for a while you get to realise how good it really is!
