Calculate the fat that has be lost due to grilling?

Postby stickupkid on Sun Jul 10, 2011 2:09 am

I have a question if a 100 grams of raw chicken breast has 21.8g of protein and 3.2g of fat when cooked I know the protein stays the same but how would I calculate the fat that has be lost due to grilling?

What difference does it make? You just said it has 3.2g fat WHEN COOKED. You're not eating it raw, are you?

The fat grams above I gave was from raw but will like to know how much fat is lost when grilled. I know protein don't shrink once cooked and was wondering the fat that has been lost if I measured it would that give me the fat count lost?

1g fat is lost during grilling. Livestrong.com says 4 ounces boneless skinless chicken breasts goes from 2.5g to 1.5g fat from raw to grilled.

Grilling reduces the fat content by about 25% so if your raw fat content was 3.2g when grilled you subtract 25% which is 0.8 that equals 2.4 grams of fat when cooked or for an even number go with 1 gram of fat as dsharp mentioned also remember that's 9 calories lost also.
