Coffee

Can you take coffee while on the anabolic diet using a very light drop of milk so that carb count isn’t too high or is there a coffee whitener with zero carbs as I’m not too keen on black coffee.

If you are concerned about the carbs, you probably shouldn't be. One tablespoon of whole milk, which would probably be enough to "whiten" your coffee, has a little over 1 carb. If you don't want to consume even that amount to lighten your coffee, then use a tablespoon of heavy cream which has about 1/2 a carb.

Coffee is fine on an anabolic diet. Mark achieved the look up top in the banner of this forum while liberally consuming coffee :)

Unless caffeine happens to spike your insulin, in which case... I'm fading my caffeine this week to see if it might be causing the fatigue, coldness and weight loss stall I'm seeing. Hopefully I don't have to give it up entirely!

Caffeine is one of the main causes that 80% of Americans have chronic adrenal fatigue. I limit it as much I can. I will have my caffeine if there is nothing else to give me stimulation at an exact moment. I am very sensitive. One tea spoon of regular nes cafe will keep me hyperactive for the next 4-5hours.

Well, if they would offer the exact same beverage choices in caffeine-free, it'd help! I like the way diet Mountain Dew tastes, but can I enjoy it? Oh no, there's no caffeine-free version. Caffeine-free diet Dr. Pepper exists, but it's not ubiquitous like the leaded version is. And then throw in the fact that I want them to be Splenda-sweetened instead of aspartame, and it's hopeless. The only thing I can drink now apparently is Diet Rite. It's just ok. :( And then there's the question whether any sweetener at all, even non-caloric ones, is going to shut off the fat burning switch and throw the fat storage switch... am I going to be reduced to drinking nothing but water all the time?!

I know, exciting diet, boring body... but boring diet = boring life for me! Sigh. Maybe if I was single, boring diet/exciting body would be a better carrot... I mean, it's not like I'm fat enough that my husband pays less attention to me!
