Postby clip on Fri Mar 27, 2009 7:07 pm

hi,

i read about your diet (high protein and fat, low carbs) and would like to try it.
however , research i've made into ketogenic diets had shown that this kind of diets in
not without i'ts problems and many complications and dangers are involved.
so i'm confused, is this good for me or not?

Scientists and nutritionists do not know their s@t on low carbs, high fat,mod-high protein diets, that's the truth. Researches are not enough and not convincing.

And there are people here to prove that low-carb diet is not dangerous when it's done right.

Well, there are scientists that know their stuff on this, and have published numerous studies detailing the fat-reducing, muscle-preserving benfits of low-carb. Some nutritionists -- they are generally a very conservative group -- are coming around to the idea that different people have different food tolerances, and some handle grains much better than others.

For a good background on the state of nutrition in the US, read Gary Taubes' "Good Calories, Bad Calories". It's an information-dense book, but it clearly shows how the confluence of personal influence, politics, and bureaucracy created the perfect storm of bad ideas and created today's wave of obesity in America.

Of course there are some scientists that do real research and know their stuff.

Hmmm,that's interesting...

What is really the problem?
Carbs?
Carbs+Fats?
Fats?
Calories?
Hormones?
Genes?
Stress?
Bad Habits(meal time,not working out,sleeping late etc...)?

Different people have different nutritional needs, maybe? I think there is a genetic component, at least when it comes to your caloric needs and appetite. Look at triple. The poor guy practically drinks olive oil and is still losing weight and can't hardly choke down his food. Meanwhile, I could eat the leg off a table. And put on three pounds of fat doing it. Hmph.
