Bearing in mind my schedule will be
6.30am - wake up
7am - workout
7.45 - Breakfast (omelette & protein shake)
Does anyone else do an early morning workout? Is it effective?
Many thanks,
Matt
When I started THT/MANS I was working out in the morning. I didn't eat anything and I got terrific gains. I never felt sluggish. Now, when I switched to days I noticed my energy went up and my output was more. But, soon after I hit my regular energy plateau for that time of day. Meaning, as long as your workout is the same time each day with the same condition (food, sleep) you can progressively overload and put as much intensity as your body will allow.
Another great argument I got from someone when I started here was more of an animal like nature, making a comparison to a power animal, such as a lion. Lions, when hungry, work really hard to catch an animal. Short and intense bursts of energy, exploding to catch some food! After chasing gazelles around for a while perhaps (s)he gets a meal (low carb by the way), eats it and lays around all day long in the shade, drinking water from a nearby lake. You can be that Lion!
