I wasn't been weak towards chris1982's question, he made an absolutely applausable question and i think you chose to read between the lines of my answer, so i will show you where i am coming from ( INBETWEEN THE LINES ) considering chris1982 was getting his protein intake from solid foods alone is quite commendable and he seems to have quite abit of backround and knowledge in weight training and supplements when he quoted the use of creatine, caffiene and the possibility of adding aakg to his arsenal.

So his question was ( DO I NEED A PROTEIN SHAKE?????? ) so i said ( HEY CHRIS1982 POST-WORKOUT SHAKE GOOGLE IT MY FRIEND :D ), Just wish you had replied to him before i did, The top sports nutritionists IN THE WORLD highly recommend pwo shake be it high protein or high carb depending on individual targets in their sporting enviroment to aid muscle and gylcogen recovery, i dont understand your theory in not advising this to chris, and how can you assume he is bulking if he is taking creatine, who ever said creatine is solely for bulking????????, YOU VEGA ARE GIVING OUT BAD ADVICE, I think you have totally decided to target me here and have tried to make me look stupid for whatever reason i don't know, so let me teLl you something for nothing, WHEN I TRY TO GIVE ADVICE AND MY HONEST OPINION TO SOMEBODY I MAKE DAMN SURE AND READ THEIR QUESTION AND UNDERSTAND IT, BEEEEEECAAAUUUUUSSSSSSSSSEEEEEEE I DONT THINK YOU DID, VEGA READ IT AGAIN!!!!!! HOW CAN YOU ASSUME HE IS BULKING WHEN HIS FIRST SENTENCE WAS ( I AM CURRENTLY DOING THE SIX PACK ABBS PROGRAM ), yOU JUST DECIDED TO TARGET ME WITHOUT EVEN READING CHRIS'S ACTUAL QUESTION ( WHO LOOKS WEAK NOW????? ) DON'T CALL ME OUT AGAIN!!! WITHOUT TOTALLY UNDERSTANDING A QUESTION SOME-ONE IS ASKING HOW CAN YOU GIVE OUT THE PROPER ADVICE????? wHEN YOU ARE ON A CALORIE DEFICIT LIKE T.S.P.A PWO SHAKE IS OF UTMOST IMPORTANCE TO HELP YOUR BODY OUT OF A CATABOLIC STATE THATS WHY CHRIS1982 I ADVISE YOU TO GOOGLE IT.

NOW VEGA PLEASE LEAVE ME ALONE

@joh, cheers for standing up to this bully for me

@johnoregon i totally agree with what your saying i drink my protein liquids around my traing one with creatine, glutamine and bcaa 30 minutes before training, one mixed in with my 1.5 litre bottle during training and one as soon as i drop my last rep with everything else added to it, iv been doing it like this when i bulk for two years and i agree with your philosophy on this ( its there when you need it the most ) ;)

um. good grief. is this a joke?

I say that your answer was 'weak' and provide a logical reason why and this is your reply? completely absurd. you have serious issues, LALA. it's like your reply built momentum of frustration as you continued typing.

I'm sure Mark is not really interested in having posts like this on his board. in fact, i know he's not.

I offered good advice, actually. I even said that I use a post workout protein drink. bluebonnet brand. I fully support it.

take your ridiculous attitude elsewhere, and take a flyin leap while you're at it.

@ johnOregon & dsharp

Interesting reading and i did a little research myself and i was talking to 2 guys i know at the gym who are competing for their pro card in april and they like ourselves swear by a pre-workout shake they say it is every bit as important as post-workout so there you go, it is interesting to hear this as it is something that is rarely talked about, as i said before its something i have been doing myself for a couple of years now and i do think it is beneficial toward muscle aid and repair, but i wouldn't put myself out there to say its gospel as i dont have the medical means to back it up, but as i said to joh a while back i base my protein liquids around my training and my solids around the rest my day and it works for me. Alot of bodybuilders i know dont even count their post-workout shake into their daily calorie intake.

HAVE WE UNRAVELLED ANOTHER BODYBUILDING SECRET????? HHHHHHHHMMMmmmm INTERESTING :ugeek:

Complete speculation here, but maybe because it's isolated or hydrolyzed whey it can be more processed in the liver than the stomach so it doesn't inhibit the blood from clearing out lactic acid in exercised muscles????? I know I wouldn't try it with regular whey protein concentrate, but maybe it does have merit with faster metabolizing whey after all. I'll certainly give it a shot. I WOULD count it as calorie intake, however. I don't think there's anyway you can get around that. A calorie of fuel is a calorie of fuel even though in training you're burning up more. It just all needs to be accounted for on both sides.

Hey dsharp

It is an interesting factor and a very good point you are making, whey isolate and hydrolyzed doesnt really have to be broke down as much by the body so it definitly gets into the system alot quicker so surely your muscles do feed off it during excercise because it doesn't have to go through the process of being digested and broken down because it is going through your system in liquid form, i don't know about johnOregon but i definitly don't feel uncomfortable during excercise when i take a pre-shake and it is isolate i use, which would be a good indication as to it having to be digested, either way if its not feeding your muscles surely it would be preventing the body from feeding of the muscles, i do think the possibility of completely emptying glycogen and turning catabolic is very very hard to measure in individuals so it could quite possibly be a valid point we are making either way.

I hear you, a calorie is a calorie to me also but this is what these guys do with their diets and it seems to be working on them they would to me be at the elite stage of bodybuilding and they have their bodies finely tuned to what goes in and what goes out, so i won't argue with them or they wont let me use their weights
