Low Fat Days? How to?

Postby melville49 on Fri May 22, 2009 9:13 pm

What foods do you guys eat on your low-fat/carb-up rest days? I don't have any foods that are high in protein but low in fat. I usually just drink protein shakes for most of the day. Is this recommended?

No, you should mostly eat food. So, I'm not aware of a need to go low-fat on your carb-up days as part of the bulking diet, and Total Anabolism doesn't give any specific recommendations about macronutrient ratios during carb-ups. But if you want to, you can choose chicken or turkey breast, ostrich or bison, fat-free/low-fat cottage cheese, cheese or yogurt, quinoa (which is a high-ish protein grain), fish, etc.

I imagine you'd probably be successful eating like the GLAD diet during your MANS carb-up. Does that help?

Thanks for the reply. With just eating chicken for protein on off days, it still amounts to low numbers of fat. My problem has been that I've been under eating tremendously, for off and on days. Now my weights can finally bounce back up.
