MANS question: Fats, peanuts etc.

Postby Sergeant on Sun Aug 14, 2011 3:44 pm

Hello,

I've got problem with fats.
Almost everywhere (TV, bodybuilding forums, etc.) there are info that there are two kinds of fat, good and bad(saturated fat). On MANS should I care about which fat is good and which is bad, or maybe it doesn't matter?

Peanuts as a snack.
Can I eat salted peanuts or should I wash them off before I put them to my mouth?

Thank you in advance

PS: Sorry for english, since 2006 didn't improve even for a lil' bit :(

On MANS there is no need to worry about sat fat just keep protein optimal and calories sufficient for muscle growth.

Salted peanuts swap for either monkey nuts, almonds or walnuts which are a healthy option and can help raise HDL and lower LDL

Thank you,

What about milk, I like to have my protein shakes with milk (shakes with water don't taste as good as with milk)
I use milk with 3.2% fat, is it ok or should I avoid milk becouse of lactose? What instead then, cream and water?

oh and nuts thing.
when I type in google peanuts I got this: http://www.google.pl/search?q=peanuts+v ... 04&bih=671

when I type monkey nuts I got this : http://www.google.pl/search?q=peanuts+v ... 04&bih=707

Well, both are the same, but I can get only the salted version of them, (I'm allergic to walnuts and almods are quite expensive)
basically the question is about the salt ;)

You can have milk but it can limit you carb total better option would be the cream like you said. keep you main carb count for green leafy veg.

When choosing nuts go for wholefood nuts.I get mine from Tesco's 400g bag for £1.50.

A typical 25g serving cal - 145g pro - 7.9g carb - 2.9g fat - 11.9g sat fat - 2.2g
