protein shakes

I have been taking micellar casein for a bit, but gaining some abdominal fat. I was wondering if whey protein was a better for weight gain purposes being that it's faster to digest and micellar casein is a super slow protein?? :|

Based on things I read, you can use various different kinds of proteins at various times of day and with certain strategies to get maximum results. For example, pre and post workout it's widely accepted (from my seeing it over and over in articles) that fast absorbing protein is ideal. Better N Eggs makes pasteurized egg whites which absorb quick and can be drank raw and have 100% bio-availability due to the pasteurization process. My post workout shake is a blend of a few proteins (egg white, soy isolate, whey isolate).

Before bed I take MUSCLE XGF by AST and it has 7 proteins, all with various digestion times... It also has 18 grams of really good fats which help slow down the digestion process even more. Casein (and cottage cheese, ricotta, etc.) is slow digesting and good for night time as your body sleeps.

So, as you can see, it's good to know the absorbing times of various proteins and time them out during the day.

Weight gain is definitely a matter of eating a low and lifting hard but you know that I'm sure. From you're picture you got a solid physique.
