^^APPLAUSE!!!!^^
You are SO right. Tell me WHY you are claiming these things, then maybe I'll listen. Moreover, you can look at 20 different "experts" and get 21 different pictures of what counts as "natural" and what's "artificial/harmful" and why.
As an example, I have been researching anti-candida diets for about a month now, and for every list of foods to eat and foods to avoid, I can go find another one that lists foods from the first "eat" list on the "avoid" list and vice versa. It's absolutely maddening to go to one site and have them tell you that unsweetened yogurt with live cultures, unsweetened coconut (milk/flesh/oil, etc.), avocado, and apple cider vinegar with the "mother" are helpful for kicking the crap out of yeast, and then another that tells you that you must not eat yogurt, coconut, avocado or apple cider vinegar. They advocate a low carb diet to starve the yeast (duh) and then turn around and have you eating lentils, chickpeas, and quinoa. CHICKPEAS, f.f.s.?! Holy Christ, what do they think they're made of-- fat and protein?! For one giddy second, I thought about trying to synthesize a composite list of what was allowed on all of them and stick to that, but I gave that up. I can't live on distilled water, lemon juice and eggs for 3 months.
The really egregious part is that not one of them explains WHY. For example, I get why you should eliminate fruit juice and regular soda, but why in the crap would you need to eliminate diet soda?! It's fizzy water, sucralose and citric acid. There's nothing there that the yeast can even eat. If anything, it should help starve them out because there's nothing there at all for them to use. Although, some say to avoid citric acid, because it is produce by yeast. Well, so? Urine is produced by me, does that mean if there's a lot of urine I'll be drawn to it? Uh, hardly, so who the hell cares that citric acid is produced by yeast? I really haven't been able to find anybody explaining WHY.
I think a lot of the shite you read out there is just a bunch of jokers that did it one particular way and everybody else is just buying into their (lack of) logic. The plural of "anecdote" is not "data".
