Switching from CKD to TKD

Postby romo20350 on Sun May 24, 2009 9:27 pm

So yeah my last carb up was a complete disaster (like all of them).
It seems I am too addicted to carbs to stop binging on chocolate, cereal and ice cream.
So instead of a cyclical ketogenic diet, I'm switching over to a targeted ketogenic diet where you just eat 20-40 carbs before your workout.
It seems this will work way better for me as I get spacey and have terrible digestive issues when I reintroduce the carbs.
I also just got my new barbell in the mail a few days ago and I used it today for my workout. So much better than the dumbbells!
Anyways...I have high hopes for TKD and I can't wait to see some good gains.
Cheers!

Well according to this article: http://www.musclehack.com/post-workout- ... roductive/
Post workout carbs are not necessary so I'm thinking it would be good to just do the pre workout carbs.
Am I right?

I was thinking of TKD approach as carb ups were derailing me. I was put off though because I didn't know wether I'd be burning fat too often, say I ate carbs worked out and then ate carbs. When would I be primarily burning fat and how long for. I would eat carbs again the next day and that again that would effect my fat burning. It just makes more sense to go with a CKD if you have fat to burn, but as this is in the bodybuilding section you probably dont so go for it and let us know how it works out. The only other thing wrong with that would be the fact that I probably wouldn't get the effects of insulin as much if taking such a little amount. Say you workout 5 times a weeks and take in 40g carbs prior to your workout that only totals up to 200g carbs all week, in the long run maybe it would hinder your progress.
