timed carb ups?

Postby GT_907 on Thu May 21, 2009 10:01 am

Is it a good idea to have massive amount of carbs after a workout day if it falls on a carb up day after?

say I workout on friday, then saturday is a carb up day? will it effect GH levels? I have read that insulin blunts GH output and was wondering if it's so. And if it is, wouldn't the huge surplus of calories and carbs have a more positive effect on muscle mass and glycogen then just GH? testosterone should be up as well from all the calories... right??

I wish I could speak to the exact science at play, but unfortunately I can't. My only suggestion would be to follow the protocols Mark's outlined in "Total Anabolism", and perhaps pick up one of Dr. Mauro Di Pasquale's books, too. He has some of the most solid science available behind his diet recommendations, and IMHO Mark's books and body are based largely on Dr. Di Pasquale's work.

that sounds like a sound suggestion.. i try to re-invent the wheel way too often and end up spinning my wheels going nowhere.

In all honesty, I really can only handle 1 days worth of carbing up.. anymore and I feel like sleeping in allllllll day!
