Illnes and the MANS Diet

Postby ScottMc78 on Tue Oct 13, 2009 10:30 am

Just need a bit of advice or any alternatives.

Currently three days in having came down with food poisening. Now everyone is suggesting things like dry toast, drinking powerade etc but been ignoring it and just continuing my diet only taking extra paracetomal and ibuprofen as had really bad muscle pains. Obviously stopped training the now also.

Anyway didnt want to effect my diet but the missus went and phoned NHS 24 anyway and has arranged for a doctor to come out i still think i dont need a doctor and can beat this. So i am guessing he's going to give me thing like dioloryte (sorry not sure of spelling) but replaces electrolytes just like people suggesting powerade i suppose, but my problem is are things like powerade, gatorade not high in carbs? Im not too sure hence why asking.

Also always known dry toast is good for my stomach as also had bad diarohea but not wanting to take it because again just gonna boost my carb amounts.

Wondering should i stop the diet for a few days and just eat what i need to and drink these drinks? And then try get back on track quicker. Or does anyone have any tips or remedys that may help? As in my head i just dont want to ruin my diet even though the illness is probably doing it as lost 8lbs since weighing myself last week :( Id say thats too much

Anyway any tips greatly appreciated.
