Looks like it went slightly off topic for a while there, but Ill try to get it back on...
I'm a University Lecturer so I am fortunate enough to have access to a good gym, which I attend before work. My day is up at 6am and feed sometime before I leave, on the road at 6.50 and travel an hour to work, in the gym for 8.00. Train until approx 9.00 (including changing time), post workout shake then in the labs or lecturing by 9.30.
As long as I'm not timetabled for a class, I can pretty much hit my required feed times of 10.00, 1.00, and 4.00 during work hours, and if I am otherwise engaged, I just feed as soon as I can. At home, I'll feed again at 7.00 and thats my day. I find 5 times instead of 6 suits me better as I like to go to bed feeling like Ive had enough time to digest whatever the last meal was. The work time meals I go for are generally cheese/ham/egg salads (or various combinations of each). Its not exactly exciting eating the same things day in day out, but I know the measurements and nutritional data for each meal so it is very convenient. I can vary my 7.00 feed to get something more interesting in my belly. I choose to eat this way mainly as I recognise that feeding is simply a biological requirement, and doesnt necessarily have to be exciting every time. Simply get the fat/protein/carb ratios correct, spend 5 minutes getting the food in and move on to the next item in your day.
As the original post was asking about how to fit it all in, I would say that from my experience, training in the morning before you have done anything else is absolutely the best way to manage your training time/lifestyle. You can obviously squeeze it in to a lunch hour (but feel pressured by returning to work on time), or leave training until after work - but sometimes training at this time can feel like more of a burden then a pleasure. So my solution, get up early, train first thing and then you have the rest of your day to yourself. There are also other benefits to training at this time of day, including feeling more energised and having already accomplished something before 9.00am! Its a great way to start your day.
Regards,
