MANs Diet. Holy Weight Loss Batman!

I started the MANS diet four days ago on Sunday and since then I've gone from 69kg to 67.7kg today (I'm 174 cms tall btw). I guess I went into ketosis pretty quick. Has anyone else had a similar result so fast? It seems like a lot of weight for just a few days. I might start upping my calorie intake. So far I've been eating 2000 a day as I'm not working out right now. My recommended intake is 2500 for THT purposes. I'm restarting workouts this week so I'll need the extra calories for sure.

Also, when is it recommended to start your carb ups? I may start this weekend but some say give your body 2 weeks to make sure it's in ketosis before starting carb up days.

Any thoughts?

Depends what your golas are, are you trying to lean up or build mass ?

If you wantto build mass then you need to up your calorie intake quite a bit - at least 500 cals above maintanance so 3000 in your case, if you want to lean up then stay as you are !

With respect to carb ups, I had my 1st carb up day 2 weeks after starting MANS, I have now dropped the 2 carb up days to 1 as I am trying to get leaner at the mo.

Thanks for the reply as I totally forgot about the extra 500 cals needed. For some reason I thought the final number you get after your RMR etc was the final amount needed. Lately my friends have said I look a bit skinny. No wonder considering I've been eating below maintainance for a while. Being skinny isn't my goal. Getting lean and building some muscle is my aim.

Been on 3000 cals a day since Friday and I'm back to some hard workouts from this week.

You lose a lot of water weight as soon as you begin a low carb diet, you won't continue to lose at the same rate, it;s just the initial effect.
