started MANS, quick question on choice

Postby blazinghellion on Tue Jun 21, 2011 1:32 am

I used to drink about a gallon of while milk a day. Mostly cuz for starters it tastes great plus had protein and fats and such. But since I ned to keep low on carbs for about 5.5 days, I dropped rice and noodles for whole milk. Mostly for convineince as its much easier for me to measure accuratly. Its only day 1, and already had around 30g of carbs from milk(ok 32g). I just wanted to know if using whole milk would be a decent form of carbs. During the 5.5 days of low carbs. I plan to go back to the gallon a day during the carb-load days.

Also I had the milk about 2 hours before my workout starts(still 30 minutes till I start). Should I take it closer to working out? I figured taking it as close to workout time would be the best time to take it.

Thanks.

Btw I do know the GL is only 3 from the chart here, another reason I choose it

I'd ditch the milk all together if I were you. Substitute it for vegtables/ low carb fuits like strawberrys etc. Get the fats and proteins you need from meats. Steak, eggs, chicken etc. I think of it this way: cows milk is designed by nature to raise a calf into a cow. Are you trying to grow into a cow?

32g of carbs is waay too many. if you have 32 just from milk then ure prob gonna end the day wwell over 50 or possibly more. now if ur on mans then ure prob not counting fat calories or protein either so basically ure gonna eat too much full stop. which then leads to the dreaded fat gain.

coconut milk is a good alternative. 100 ml is 2g of fat and 2g of carbs.
