Weight Plates

Postby H2o-KiD on Tue Dec 16, 2008 10:29 am

I decided to get all the weight plates once and for all. Can anyone here sort out for me how much and which I should buy? They have 0.5kg, 1.25kg, 2.5kg, 5kg, 7.5kg, 10kg, 15kg, 20kg only. Also, I can increase small increment no matter at what weight I am lifting. Let's say if I choose to buy 20kg, automatically, I would get 2 x 20kg because dumbbell and barbell have 2 sides. Another thing to worry is the length is limited, too much weight plate is not possible. Can anyone here sort out for me which I should get? Thanks very much.

Is this okay?
For 2 dumbbells
0.5kg x 8 (Small 1kg increment)
1.25kg x 4
2.5kg x 4
5kg x 4
10kg x 8 <--- My dumbbell bar can support four 10kg which is 40kg, 2 at each side. 15kg or 20kg is too thick and cannot be used for my dumbbell.

Barbell (Includes top weight plates)
15kg x 2
20kg x 10 (Decided to get to 200kg first. Probably will last very long until I really need more weights.)

Is the above okay? Or can be more optimized? Please help :D
