Has anybody any experience of Maximuscle supplements? Which products would you recommend for Low carb high protein diet as I'm divided on which product to go for. I'm thinking of Pro Power supplements or Nutritionx. Anybody got recommendations?

Visit the following website... http://www.myprotein.co.uk

They have everything you'll need at the cheapest price!

I checked out a few reviews, and everyone gives their products a BIG thumbs up :D

I will be ordering my products from them over the weekend.

Protein powders are one of the most blatent supplement ripoffs. Barely any companies manufacture their own protein, yet make ludicrous claims regarding percentages, quality etc, despite using virtually identical products sourced from the actual dairy industry manufacturers. The only difference is the added flavours, sweeteners etc, which, obviously do nothing but dilute the product. Oh yeh, the tubs and labels and advertising differ, and further add to the costs. Otherwise, unless you are buying total scams, ie bags of flour, WPC is WPC, Isolate is Isolate, Casein is Casein and the rest of the blurb, is selling snow to eskimos. Look around and choose wisely.

Uplift,

That's an interesting observation. I appreciate your skepticism in what has always seemed like an overly saturated market of supplement products. So I have to ask, if you use any whey, etc., which products did you finally settle on after you got past the marketing fuzz?

Gidday dbunks, I get my whey from here;

http://www.proteindirect.com.au/

That is an Aussie site, but I'm sure most countries have something similiar. The UK one looks something like them.

I look around for casein, and try to buy in bulk when I come across 'specials'. I like these guys, but sometimes buy elsewhere.

http://www.purenutrition.com.au/index.php

For glutamine I get this;

http://www.superiornutraceuticals.net/c ... 9791301d37

It tastes much different (bitter) than L Glutamine, but like anything you quickly get used to it if you want. Even though I get it from USA, the price, speed of delivery is deluxe. I get nearly all my vitamins from USA. The markups here are absolutely ludicrous. For instance, I can always get identical brands, say Optimum ZMA for instance, for between a quarter and half the price of here, even including shipping. Ludicrous. And if there are specials, even better... then I stock up.

I've weight trained for over 35 years, and the supplement world is full of ridiculous (but also ridiculously successful) scams. The 'latest breakthrough' to resurface is 'Viraloid'. Unbelievable. It surfaced around 15 years ago, what a scam! It had every possible angle covered. It was touted as an Aussie breakthrough, marketed only in America as another 'down under super radical steroid like substance' that the 'Aussies can use because of their lack of laws and regulations' (hilarious). It cost a fortune because it was so rare and the Aussies didn't want anyone to know about it, plus it was developed by some 'Australian Institute of Sports Medical Sciences', which didn't, and has never exsisted, and was promoted in every major bodybuilding magazine. The Americans bought truck loads of it, while the Aussies ran around like chooks without heads trying to get it imported back here, before, like 95% of supplements, they all finally, reluctantly realised nothing was happening.... Vanadyl anyone (careful, not too much, you don't want to have to explain freakish 500% muscle growth), or perhaps some Boron... how about Chromium Picolinate? Hilarious! Imagine the money raked in from those epics! Anyway, viraloid is back, except now its reversed, and Australia is the target. And 'famous, reliable, reputable companies', are peddling the ####!

Its entertaining anyway. Be alert and do your homework when it comes to supplements.

I've had good experiences with most Maximuscle products having used them for a year or so. Personally speaking I would stick to the basic Promax protein and avoid the others like Promax extreme, Progain, etc as you can better control your diet in other ways (and FAR more cheaply!!!)

Promax tastes the best of all the powders I tasted, I actually quite like it.
Cyclone tastes foul, I almost couldn't bring myself to finish the tub.
Progain made me fat, but that was probably my misunderstanding at the time of how to use weightgainers.
Promax Extreme is my next favourite but I think it's cheaper to buy protein and creatine separately.
Protein bars - horrible and too sweet! They don't contain much protein and I prefer eating a can of tuna!
Creatamax 300 was a good creatine, recommended.

I bought my stuff online via a re-seller and got it very cheaply.
