Soybean sprouts are 6g carb, 2g fiber per 100g serving. 4g of net carbohydrate per serving isn't bad at all. Other sprouts are pretty low, too.

Great snack:

1/3 lb ground beef
1/2 stick unsalted butter

Cook up the beef, melt the butter in, and you've got a 700-800 calorie 'beef soup' with about 0 carbs. Mmm.

I believe the ones toward the bottom should be enjoyed with more moderation than the ones at the top, which may be eaten in larger quantities. The leafy greens are the basis of a low carb diet. The roots, like celeriac, turnip, carrot, parsnip, and potato are the ones with higher starch/carb content. I don't really eat these, except for when I get tired of picking carrot shreds out of my salads. Then I just figure that the few that are in there are probably not going to kill me and might have a vitamin or two lurking somewhere. :P

Great list, thanks for including it for those who haven't seen it!

Thanks for the reply, its very much appreciated :D I have just started the m.a.n.s. diet and there seems to be a good variety of foods for snacks, lunch and dinner but it seems to be lacking in the breakfast department. I have been eating 3 scrambled eggs, with one slice of ham and American cheese added, accompanied by 3 slices of bacon. I have also heard of the low-carb pancakes from the muscle hack website, although I haven't tried them due to not having any soy protein isolate currently.. Basically these are all I have heard of, I would love to hear of some others if anyone has any. Also would be nice if it had a similar amount of protein as the egg breakfast as I need 202g of protein a day. Thanks..

Nothing sacred about breakfast being exclusively breakfast foods. I do recommend trying some soy pancakes with Da Vinci Gourmet Sugar-Free Pancake Syrup on them... so yummy!

My breakfast is very typically eggs. Hard to beat the taste and nutrition, easy to prepare, and I find my compliance with the eating plan is higher if I tend to eat the same things every day. This morning it was eggs with more eggs :) Why not try some non-breakfast foods, though? Egg mixed with tuna in a patty cooked on the stove comes out like a nice tuna-burger, while 50g of spinach mixed with cream (or Hood's Calorie Countdown, need to buy some more of that stuff), protein powder, various flavorings, and a few berries of your favorite variety also plays really well and transports nicely if you're in a hurry.

Good luck!

For the fastest, simplest breakfast ever: five scrambled eggs and a bottle of olive oil. Eat the eggs and suck down a tablespoon of olive oil between every few bites. Gives you in the region of 800 calories and is minimal effort.

I just came across a recipe for crustless quiche, looks like a great low carb/high fat-protein meal to me!
