I'm a male, 39 years old, and I've been training, consistently, for nine years at least...
If you knew my struggle with putting on real muscle, from my perspective, you'd have me for the experiment without a doubt. Either way, I'll try to make my case for this experiment as Intelligently as possible:
I guess I would fall under the traditional category of a hardgainer. But that would be too much of an oversimplification. I don't know when I stopped putting on muscle, but it's been a while. I've been on so many programs: High Volume, High intensity (Arthur Jones Style, so yes, I know about TRUE failure, and minimal sets, etc) I've done high weight/low reps, and visa versa, bodyweight, static holds, old school, new school, bulking, cutting, Many online programs, even yours Mark, Vince del Monte, many others. I've done the formulas for calorie intake, (did it to a "T", but I got fat) -It could be said that I didn't follow all of these programs correctly, and that may be true, but I'm extremely attentive and pay attention to detail. -I followed all of this advice as strictly as I could, without the benefit actual guidance...Having said all that: a 1/2" on my arms?? are you kidding, I've tried, and tried using every expert advice out there. I would LOVE to finally have a way to get results, and put my quest for physical fitness in 'Cruise Control'. It's been a struggle, and yet I refuse to believe my genetics will keep me from growing just a little more muscle...Thanks for your time.
-Ben
