Legs

How long does it take you to recover from a leg workout? I find when I get home after a leg session that I need to sleep for 30 minutes, and it takes me about 5-6 days to fully recover i.e. no more muscle aches. Am I overdoing it maybe? I do get stronger week on week so I figure not, but 5 days to recover seems excessive. Been the same for the last 12 months.

Possibly, I mean I feel over 100% ready in 7 days of course. I feel sore for the next 2 days usually. 3rd day I have some little soreness left that doesn't matter so basically I can lift legs 3-4 days after lifting them. Link me your routine or write it on here. Wondering if you're doing a 4 or 5 day split, what day and what other body parts it's combined with, etc...

I dont think you could be over training if your following the T.H.T. program richard-a.

I am really sore for about 4 days. Sometimes training legs once a week can give you more soreness than training legs twice a week which might sound strange but is true.

When I was doing a lower/upper routine you train legs twice a week a heavy day then a lighter day and I never had much trouble with soreness, then I changed back to training legs once a week and soreness hurt like hell sounds strange but true.

Maybe some stretching after workout might help also try to drink plenty of water post workout and through the week will help.

Cheers guys. Guess it's normal then. I'm intreagued to know why though, as the response from other muscle groups is nothing like that for legs.

I'm doing ABAB (upper/lower) for the next 10 weeks though have been training mostly THT and a cycle of MAX-OT over the last 12 months with exactly the same experience.

Not sure, since you've been doing MAX-OT a year then maybe you're too adapted to the 4-6 rep range and switching to a ABAB split(cause I'm thinking that's legs twice a week or is it a 3-day split?) caused your legs even a harder, frequent hit and your body simply can't handle that. If not, then I apologize because I have no other idea.
