Alternative to decline cable pullovers

Postby bclark96 on Fri Jan 20, 2012 4:34 am

At my gym, they have a machine that's basically exactly like this:

Only problem is, I feel the burn in my forearms and partially biceps with this, not my lats. You basically pull the bars down, but the elbows seem to bend too much, and the compound movement doesn't seem to hit the lats.

Would using a machine like this be a better idea?

If you feel it in the lats more with the second machine, then use that one.

I had the same challenge. The decline cable pullovers were hitting my tris to. I have gone to wide grip pulls ups and alternate between bent over rows and seated rows. They seem to better target the area for me.

If your looking to fry your lats then do a set of Kayak Rows 6-8 reps , followed by a underhand-grip lat pulldown 8-10 reps or a underhand-grip lat pulldown 8-10 rpes followed by straight arm lat pulldowns, you could even do triple rest/pause set at your last lat movement.
