Best time of day to workout and home gym suggestions?

Postby jdj983 on Fri Jul 29, 2011 2:14 pm

Hi,

I'm a weight lifiting noob. I've done weights before but nothing focussed and never followed a program like I'm trying to follow now. I have a couple of questions I'd like answered if at all possible.

It makes sense for me to weight train first thing in the morning at around 6.30am before work, as I have other things to do in the evening and the gym is too busy. I've searched around on the net and failed to find any clear advice about when is the best time to work out. Any opinions?

I'd also like to invest in a home gym and cut the trips to the fitness centre out all together. What would I need to complete the THT program and how much roughly would I need to spend?

Thanks,

J

Don’t worry when you can train, training should work around your life it shouldn’t dominate your life unless you are a professional bodybuilder whom you aren’t so relax and train at 6:30 am.

If you have the space and a reasonable budget creating your own home gym can be beneficial. I know Mark trains at home and uses a Marcy Smith-Machine I don’t know what model he uses but there are two which start around £500 to £750

Marcy MP3100 Smith Machine, Cage & Weight Bench With Lat Pulldown, Pec Dec & Low Pulley!

MARCY SM4000 Deluxe Smith
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Marcy-MARCY-SM4 ... 783&sr=8-3

You are also gonna have to buy a dumbbell set and a barbell with some plates if you purchase the deluxe model there no need to by a plate tree.
