Chest Workout

Is a back-pack push up effective to get large pecs? (with dumbells on it, about 55lbs). Thanks! :?:

Do you fail between 8-12 reps? If so, wouldn't you assume it is a good exercise and has all the characteristics of a bench press?
no expert but if it was all I had, especially if weights could be modified to reach 8-12, I would be happy.

How about inclined, declined and flat dumbell flyes, would it make my chest bigger?

I finally arrived at
3 decline sets
3 incline sets
3 flies dropping setting last one down to the nub

now I get growth and am happy

I do these all on a seatied cable machine and am happy because no one wants to use the thing so I can sit there between sets and daydream.
On this machineI can rep to failure without choking to death or having guys standing over me to help.

I dropped setted all 3 exercises the 3rd today because I'm a little worried that I might be platueing out. Might be paranoid.

Also, palms up and elbows close as possible at the PCP for flies. You can feel it much better in your chest. IMHO
caveat:
I"m no huge monster, just an old guy making progress one rep at a time.
