Doing extra abs on THT 4.0

Postby Tayo2 on Sat Aug 06, 2011 3:25 pm

Before I started tht 4.0 I did ab ripper x every other day. On the tht volume 1 workout I see that abs are only focused on once a week. Do you think doing abs 3x a week is more conducive to getting a stronger and maintaining a stronger core? Or is 1x a week enough? -- Its Saturday and my abs are still soar from Wednesday but I feel the NEED to work them :D

Since you have been traing 3x week before why not give this a chance to see how your body responds to just once a week? Once you have done this for say a month you should have a better idea if once a week like THT 4.0 works for you or not. If not then you can go back to 3x week. If you go back now you will never know right?

Hey Tayo,

DON'T DO IT!! STEP AWAY FROM THE INCLINE BENCH!! :)

If your muscles haven't healed to their POP, you'll be working against yourself if you tear them down again. I've seen my greatest gains in my abs and I've stuck to the "once a week" routine. I'm not a lug-head, which helps, but I'm at the point now where I'm holding a 35 lb plate (behind my head) for my inclines and doing 20-25 on my first set, so it's past time to bump it up, but the 45-pounder is tough to hold. And I've read posts here from guys who are doing more, so it works.

No, rest easy in the knowledge that you can progress efficiently by following Mark's plan. Let the muscles heal before you rip 'em again. If you don't feel ANY discomfort in 5 days, then you can do abs every 5 days. For me, 7 is just right. Less work for the more gains.

Cheers,
