Hey stickupkid
Absolutely marks recommendations are spot on also, in fact cables are fantastic because you can really concentrate on the negatives better do them reverse palm of course to hit the medial head, alot of people don't realise that the medial head is the muscle that gives your arm the biggest look when arms are flexed and they miss out on their arms looking alot bigger than they should because they neglect this muscle because they think it is part of the bicep, so work it hard and you will get great gains in your arm area.
@ krs you are spot on here too pal, close-grip bench is the best excercise for the triceps i think i had a discussion about this with johnOregon if i remember correctly instead of dips, and yep palms close but not too close ( ABOUT 18INCHES APART ) to keep the pressure of the wrists ( MAN ITS A KILLER WHEN YOU HURT THOSE ) and yes i agree with you also with the dumbell overhead extension another reason why i suggested it and also key to this excersie if doing it with two dumbells like you mentioned is to concentrate on keeping your elbows as close as possible when you see them moving outwards pull them back in again to make this effective or use a tricep bar which is really good also, and do them seated to isolate them better.
@ stickupkid
Can i make a sugesstion?????? Always train with your free weights first to get the best benefit from your workouts and keep cables towards your last sets because they aide you better as you fatigue and like i said above you can concentrate on your negatives better but free weight will give you better tears at the start of your training, also on tricep day close-grip b/press first excercise, or skull crushers first your choice, because you tear the most fibres in your first couple of sets and these are the best all round excercises for triceps and because you a fresher at the start of your training you can hit them MAX, so work everything around those two remember that in all your training
GOOD LUCK
