I been away for a long time and some people do not even know me but cameback to the forums after sometime to see that Check responded back to me back in Sept and didnt want to necro a post.
Well first off I been bouncing back and forth between different workouts and the diet part was so hard for me. Well I was always in question about diabetes and supplements. Well only supplements I take is a diabetic vitamin pack and whey, never wanted to risk creatine.
But the time I was doing Mark's program it was the one that dropped my A1c levels back to normal and my doctor was amazed how well I looked then. I am officially going to go back on THT. I also suffer from depression and anxiety, side note diabetes, depression and anxiety are all linked. Well with meds to help with the mental problems I have I am more focused and really want to hit Marks THT again. I was on a basic bodybuilding routine a friend gave me who lifts weights religiously but felt it wasn't for me really.
But I know THT works for me and hitting it hard again.
But as a type 2 diabetic and for any other diabetics out there who workout and such, my best advice is to go see your doctor. I am suprised that my doctor was not in the whole hoopla about bodybuilding is not good for me and eating all this protein wasn't good either. His first question was if I was going to compete or not LOL. Told him no but he just said stick with the protein powder but wanted me to eat more natural proteins. When i see him again I will ask him about creatine and see what he thinks on just sticking with a maintence phase. Also after many months of reading and studying about diets, I would recommend any diabetic to try the GLADs diet Mark offers. I understand, SUPPOSEDLY there is a difference between a properly maintained ketosis and out of control ketosis. But as diabetics do we honestly want to take that risk? I been still questioning it since I am still a big husky dude. But remember as diabetics we can ketoacidosis when our body produces to many ketones and a MANS diet sounds somewhat close to a Keto diet. But this is all theory and would like some input on the matter as well from others. Thanks for reading this and glad to be back.
