how many workouts per week?

Hey, just wondering how many workouts per body part per week is best. I have trouble fitting in more than 4 workouts a week. And currently, I've been doing chest, back, and arms for 2 of those, and shoulders and legs for the other 2. Would it be better to workout each area more in depth once a week? or am I going to have trouble gaining that way?

it all depends on the intensity u train. For example if u wer to only do 1 exercise for chest u would have to train chest more often say 3 times a week.But sine u have 4 days to play with u could have chest and triceps paired and hit chest with 3-4 exercises 1 nite a week.A good split routine would be monday-chest/triceps tuesday back/ biceps thursday Legs friday shoulders/ stomach. this waqy ur not overtraining smaller muscle groups such as triceps because of the gap between chest nite and shoulders.this is just an example split mite not be ideal 4 every1. :D
Waitst-31.5, chest 43, arms-tris 14, bis 15.5 , neck 17.5, thighs 23 , calves 15 , forearms 12.5

Thanks, that's kind of what I was thinking. As it is, I'm just only able to do like two exercises per area, and I wanted to broaden it up a bit.

I can use the 3 workout per week,.
But i thinks the best routine is 4 to 5 workouts per weeks,.

Hey, I've been wondering about this too.

I just started Volume 1 cycle of THT, and it says to hit each major muscle group one day a week. Now, I'm used to working out on an A-B schedule, where I split all the muscle groups into two days and alternate between them - with only 48 hours of rest between them. That may be insufficient rest, I realize now.... but going from every other day to only once a week? Does a muscle group really need 168 hours to rest? Seems like a huge under-utilization to me.

The volume of work done on each muscle group per workout will be far greater with this type of split that is why the longer rest perods before they got hit again.Saying u wer doing an all over body workout u may only be hitting each muscle group with 3-4 sets , meaning u will need 2 be hitting each group maybe 3 times a week.More r less the harder u stress a muscle the longer the rest periods need 2 be. hope this helps 8-)

I am 59 yrs young. I do 5 days weights and two days cardio out of seven. The cardio sessions are 20min treadmill interval and 20 minutes swimming.

So I am a gym junkie ! - so What - I have not noticed any loss of muscle mass and have been training like this for 3 years.
My weight workouts were always one body part per week. I started THT this week and those workouts are also spaced over 5 days. I look forward to increases in size.
