I'm trying to calibrate my calories, and I've used all the formulas to calculate my maintenance calories, etc... and I'm gaining about 1/2 pound per week. Is it true that the average male can only add about 1/2 of muscle per week (without steroids)?
Basically, I'm trying to add the maximum amount of muscle per week... with as little fat gain as possible... so I'm trying to keep my weight gain below 1/2 per week (because I figure anything more is probably fat).
Is there any way to know which percent of my weight gain is actually muscle, and which is fat?
