is the smaller arm weaker? if so than it will be a limiting factor in the weight you lift, so if you keep lifting eventually they will even out. it has to do with your dominential preference. if you are right handed generally your right arm will be bigger (vice versa for left handers)

one thing that i was told to do is to use dumbbells to really work the smaller muscle individually. that way you can really focus on building it (not to say you should ignore your other, but the limiting factor still comes into play  )

Most people I have met/know training with weights have some type of imbalance or assymetry especially on their arms and their quads(even Arnold had).Myself have too,my left arm is bigger than my right.I am a double handed though. That means that even if I mostly write with my left arm I do most of the things in my life with both hands,I am a right handed guitarist too so my picking hand works typically harder than my fret hand(left).

I have heard things like that most people have bigger left arms due to the closer place to heart and blood comes quicker.I think this is BS.Blood has a continious flow all over the body.

The problem in my view must be geneticial. Its either the number of muscle fibers we are born with on each arm or their overall make-up(fast or slow twitch) that affect the response from training. A muscle with a 'more' fast twitch make-up typically will respond better to training and a muscle with more fibers will be always ahead in growth getting a similar type of stimulation.

Another problem could be the nervous system. I had read that Coleman due to a neural problem on his right arm on the top of his shoulder resulted in losing close to an inch on this arm. It's not the same since you do not have an injury but it proves that the neural system plays a role in muscle growth. Actually it plays huge role.

Last thing maybe is your training. Doing bilateral exercises holding barbells, cables, machines with both hands, maybe your one arm is lifting harder than the other.Een if you do not understand this by yourself, it can happen. Both arms do not have the same strength most of the times. To prove this go do arm wrestling. You will probably have a favorite arm to beat others because it's stronger. Dbs and other unilateral work could eliminate this. At least the strength part.

you're ambidextrous, left and right hand usage

i'm a weird one ( i think )

i'm right handed but when i lift weights (and only weights, not including sports that require a dominant hand, like tennis)
my left arm can leave my right arm crying.

i can easily db curl 40lbs on the left side, but struggle on the right. (i've even tried starting off with left first but still left arm dominates) and also, my right arm is bigger than my left but i've noticed that it's my left arm that has more of the cuts.
