PCP & Cadence

Postby stickupkid on Tue Jun 08, 2010 6:46 pm

What cadence should I use for bench press? Mark says only use a 3 -1 - 3 for isolation and only for pull downs for which is a compound movement.

Mark also says there is no real PCP for Deadlifts, Dips, and Leg Presses, and I guess Squats Mark say lower for 3 seconds but don‟t focus on cadence on the Positive simply push the weight up under control should I use this for bench press also.

Yes the same applies for bench press as squats.

Lower under muscular control and just push up without focusing on cadence.

The fact is that once you get passed a certain weight, even pushing as hard as you can results in a quite slow positive rep. It's impossible to BLAST a heavy barbell up, not to mention dangerous even if you could.

Thanks for reply Mark, I have been lowering for 3 seconds and then raise so been doing it right :D

Must say doing BB press straight after DB partial files are a killer.
