Hey Sonny,

Welcome aboard!

You should post your questions below to the TSPA forum. You'll get more feedback there and that's the best place for them, as a courtesy to Mark.

Also, many members, including myself, have posted their stats as they've progressed. I hate when I ask a question on a forum and someone says, "Duh! Look it up!" I really do because I'm one of those who actually DOES try to look something up before I ask. But this is one topic that I've come across a lot, so you should be able to find some great posts very easily.

I don't have my measurement worksheet handy, but I can generalize with my progress, the trends of which are (so far) being mirrored by my wife's progress on the plan. (She started a few weeks ago after seeing my progress. I started late last year.)

We've found that most of our circumference measurements were slow to change, as has been our weight. I've gone from about 175 lbs last November to 158 lbs today. We also found that body fat measurements have improved steadily and strength progression has been non-stop.

Less fat + greater lean body weight + tremendous strength gains = exactly what I'm looking to accomplish for my phase 1

Once I cut to where I want to be, I'll switch to a bulking program and work on gaining some muscle mass. Alas, I'm a hard gainer...

I should note that I've basically been on TSPA since I've started. Not quite as strict as I was WHEN I started, because I'm in a groove now and have seen some gains, so I can let up every now and then (spelled, "occasional beer and pizza") and still keep form.

The biggest "Aha!" moment for me was several weeks into the program. I had been low-carbing without doing my weekly carb-ups. My progress slowed and I read and re-read TSPA and decided to do as Mark had scripted all along and factor in a weekly carb-up. Besides being my New Favorite Day of the Week, my progress resumed at a higher rate than before. DON'T SKIP CARB UP DAYS IF YOU'RE LOW-CARBING! ;)

Final point: Neither my wife nor I have seen 1.5+ lbs per week in weight loss and our circumference measurements haven't change much, which initially caused me concern. I stepped my fat intake down 15% and still didn't see that kind of loss. However, I was noticing that my clothes were fitting better and I could certainly see a difference in the mirror. Then when I factored the caliper measurements over several weeks into the equation, I felt better because I recognized that I was burning fat and putting on muscle mass at about the same rate to offset circumference gains. I'm ok with that, for now. Fat loss, for me, has been slow and steady. Once I drop a pound, I pretty much know it's gone for good and I can look forward to the next drop.

I plan to upload progress photos and stats in the upcoming weeks, but hopefully this helps in the meantime.

Cheers and - again - welcome!
