THT 4.0 Workout and All Dumbells

Hello All,

I am new to this site and to the THT 4.0 plan. I am just getting started and trying to learn as much as I can. Here is the question....I have a full gym at my office of which I am taking advantage of 3 days a week. I would like to go to 5 days a week, but cannot workout at the office all five days. Which leads me to want to build a home gym so I have all five days covered. While I would like to get all the items recommended by Mark to build the home gym, my basement is nearly completely finished so I have minimal room for the gym. As such, I can get an adjustable bench in there....and was thinking about getting the ironmaster dumbells. This would fit good. But I am wondering....can I do THT 4.0 with full dumbells and still get the impressive results many of you are seeing on the program? I know that weight is weight....but wondering if all dumbell exercises will cut it?

At the end of the day work out with what you have. If its dumbells, then dumbells it is. Some say dumbells are actually better as it forces you to stablize the weight more then if you use a barbell. Lifting weight is lifting weight be it barbell, dumbell, or machine. As long as your lifting heavy and are challenging your body you should grow.

Thanks Vanguard! I am going to jump in with the dumbells then. My only concern is that I won't be able to pec deck or cable flies and will have to stay with dumbell flies....not sure if I will get the same growth or not...but will give it a shot. On the lats....I think I will go to pullups since I will not have a cable pulldown exercise.

Actually dumbbells are a more naturally free movement and better range of motion.

It would be a good idea to invest in a pull bar to complement back day and you could always vist the gym once a week for leg day so you can beat up those legs.
